Program description

WoodGreen’s Youth Live-In Treatment program offers youth ages 12 to 17 a safe, supportive, and therapeutic housing environment when mental health or substance use challenges make it difficult to live at home. This youth-specific residential program provides individualized care in a structured, home-like setting to support each young person’s healing, growth, and long-term success.

WoodGreen operates two Live-In Treatment residences:

  • The Clifton Program is a six-bed, non-gender-specific home for youth ages 12 to 17. Each resident has a private bedroom.

  • The Withrow Program is an eight-bed, gender-specific home for females ages 12 to 17, offering a mix of single and double rooms.

Both homes are staffed by trained youth workers and professional counsellors, with access to consulting psychologists or psychiatrists as part of a multi-disciplinary care team. Youth participate fully in day-to-day living including grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and community activities while also receiving structured programming, therapy, and life skills support.

There is no fixed length of stay. Each youth’s treatment plan is tailored to their individual goals and needs. Stays may range from a few months to several years, depending on progress and circumstances.

Educational planning is supported in partnership with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), and additional services such as employment training, health care, legal supports, and transitional planning are provided as appropriate. For youth preparing to live independently, WoodGreen also offers transitional housing options or referrals to adult services.

Our residences are accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA), and licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

This program was previously run by Turning Point Youth Services, which has now integrated with WoodGreen. Click here to learn more.
