Program description

WoodGreen works with adults living with developmental disabilities to access community services. Our team assists with resources to find financial support, affordable housing, medical services and recreational activities. We also offer workshops to enhance fundamental life skills such as problem solving, budgeting and forming healthy relationships. This support is provided within the following two programs: Adult Protection Service Worker Program (APSW) and the Supported Independent Living Program (SIL).

Adult Protection Service Worker Program (APSW)

The APSW provides case management support, helping link individuals to services and community, such as affordable housing, medical services, mental health services, legal and child protection services, social and recreational groups, employment training and job opportunities.

The APSW supports by individuals to build important life skills, such as problem solving, budgeting and social skills. Clients will graduate from this program once goals are achieved or supports are put into place to support their independence in community.

Supported Independent Living Program (SIL)

The Supported Independent Living (SIL) program is an in-service program consisting of up one to one support per week. Clients support hours are to be used to support clients with working towards goals and to conduct meaningful, productive work alongside the client.

If you have a developmental disability, live in Ontario, and are 18 years old you must apply through DSO to see if you are eligible to receive adult ministry-funded supports available in your community.
