Media Release: New collaboration brings much-needed homes for people and wildlife in Toronto
Chimney swifts and seniors will soon have more places to live in Toronto thanks to a collaboration between the charities WoodGreen and Evergreen. The organizations created a new habitat for chimney swifts by uncapping and repairing a chimney at Evergreen Brick Works, allowing an affordable housing project for seniors on the Danforth to move ahead.

Today, WoodGreen Community Services unveiled Hope Grows Here, a vibrant new community mural created by and for Toronto’s newcomer communities. Unveiled on World Refugee Day, the mural spans the side wall of WoodGreen’s Newcomer Centre at 1491 Danforth Avenue, a central hub for settlement services in East Toronto.
