Homeward Bound Peterborough (Peterborough Housing Corporation)

Peterborough Housing Corporation (PHC) is the largest social housing provider in the City of Peterborough, with over 1000 units of senior, single and family units throughout the City and County of Peterborough. Having launched in 2018, Homeward Bound Peterborough (HBP) is running a small cohort of four participants who are finishing their 2nd semester of College with amazing results. The next cohort of eight participants have entered Phase 1 of the program and will start College in September 2019. Construction of dedicated Homeward Bound housing (McRae) is well underway with a completion date to house PHB participants in late fall. PHC works in partnership with YWCA Peterborough Haliburton in providing participants with housing, case management, and key wrap-around supports.

In Homeward Bound Peterborough, women are encouraged to pursue careers in the trades. Peterborough is home to Fleming College’s state-of-the-art School of Trades and Technology and local labour market opportunities for women in the trades are booming.
