The Food Access Program Support Student will gain practical experience supporting community nutrition, food security initiatives, and food service operations within supportive housing programs. This placement offers exposure to food access programming, resident-centred service delivery, and community-based food systems.
Responsibilities
• Support food access programs including food banks, food markets, and emergency food supports.
• Assist with food inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution activities.
• Support congregate meal programs and food-related events.
• Participate in nutrition promotion and healthy eating initiatives.
• Support attendance tracking, reporting, and program evaluation activities.
• Gain exposure to food security programming, supportive housing services, and community nutrition practices.
You Must Be
• Current student enrolled in a CSNM-accredited Food and Nutrition Management diploma program.
• Placement must be a requirement of the academic program.
• Ability to complete the required placement hours within the designated timeframe.

Shift Hours
• In-person placement.
• Multi-site placement across WoodGreen supportive housing locations.
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Commitment
• Approximately 35 hours per week.
• 2–3 week placement term consistent with academic program requirements.
• Approximately 70–105 total placement hours.
