Program Overview
The Health Promotion Program provides health education and wellness programming designed to support newcomers in Toronto. Our goal is to offer accessible, culturally responsive activities that promote overall well-being, and build community. Programs may include stretching, breathing exercises, meditation, art-based wellness activities, and other presentations on diabetes preventions, healthy eating and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate art-based wellness activities that encourage creative expression, stress reduction, and emotional well-being.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where participants can explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences through art.
- Guide participants through structured and open-ended art activities that promote self-expression, mindfulness, resilience, and social connection.
- Adapt art activities to accommodate participants of varying abilities, cultural backgrounds, and artistic experience levels.
Requirements
- Background in art facilitation, visual arts, creative wellness, community arts, or a related field.
- Experience leading art-based activities that promote creativity, self-expression, and well-being.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and participant-centered approaches.
- Strong group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with diverse communities, including newcomers, immigrants, and refugees, is an asset.
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Art Therapy certification, registration, or professional licensure is considered an asset.

Commitment
- Must commit to 2 hours per week for a 6-month period starting September 2026
