About the Position

The Administrative Support Student will support the Volunteer & Student Services team with volunteer recruitment, community engagement initiatives, event planning, and administrative coordination. This placement offers practical experience in volunteer management, project coordination, marketing, communications, and nonprofit operations while contributing to programs that strengthen community engagement across WoodGreen.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting volunteers for the Community Connections program.
  • Support volunteer recruitment campaigns and outreach initiatives.
  • Assist with content creation using Canva and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support communications and campaign planning activities.
  • Assist with event planning, coordination, and on-site event execution.
  • Complete data entry and maintain records using Microsoft Forms, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Schedule meetings and assist with calendar coordination.
  • Take meeting notes and prepare summaries as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to Volunteer & Student Services projects and initiatives.

 

You Must Be

  • Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Project Management, Human Resources, Social Service Work, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or another related field.
  • Interest in volunteer engagement, community development, nonprofit administration, or event planning.
  • Ability to commit to a six-month placement.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Forms, and Canva.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Group facilitation and collaboration skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, initiative, and willingness to learn.

 

 

Shift hours:

  • Hybrid placement.
  • Work will take place remotely and at WoodGreen’s 100 Broadview Avenue office.
  • Approximately 14–25 hours per week.
  • Schedule to be determined in consultation with the supervisor.

 

Commitment:

  • Fall 2026 placement.
  • Approximately 14–25 hours per week.
  • Six-month placement commitment preferred.

 

Screening Requirements:

  • Resume review.
  • Interview.
  • Demonstrated interest in volunteer engagement, project coordination, communications, marketing, or nonprofit administration.

 

Training

  • Volunteer & Student Services Orientation.
  • Department-specific onboarding.
  • Training on volunteer recruitment processes, Microsoft Forms, internal systems, and event coordination.
  • Ongoing coaching and supervision throughout the placement.
