Employment Services is a dynamic and result-oriented program within CPU that offers a range of resources, support, and services to respond to job seekers’ employment needs and employers’ hiring demands. Employment Services aims to help Ontarians find sustainable employment by connecting them to gainful employment opportunities and guiding individuals on a path to higher skills and training to achieve their career goals.
Responsabilities:
- This position will work with the Employment Services Job Coach Team to provide support to Assisted Clients in reviewing, updating, and creating resumes to meet their job search needs.
- Provide assistance to Job Seekers registered with WoodGreen’s Employment Services in preparing their resumes for job search activities
- Aid clients by providing excellent customer service in an engaging & supportive environment
- Provide information about WoodGreen’s programs and services as well as direct any relevant inquiries back to the appropriate WoodGreen Staff and/or Job Coach
- Support visitors with registration for the Resource & Information Centre at Employment Service sites and provide guidance to access resources as needed
- Assist in scheduling appointments with Staff and/or for Workshops or Information Sessions
- Maintain visitor Privacy, Confidentiality & adhering to Agency Policies
What you bring to the team:
- Develop and/or enhance customer service, team work, organizational and communication skills
- Enhance knowledge of social service environment community, and employment resources available
- Knowledge of resume writing requirements
- Experience working in customer service in a multicultural setting
- Strong Interpersonal & Communication skills
- Willing to learn, flexible & resourceful
- Good decision-making, judgment, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office applications
Shift hours:
Weekdays flexible scheduling virtual for 815 Danforth Ave.
Weekdays flexible scheduling in-person at 2930 Lake Shore Blvd
Weekdays flexible scheduling at 1533 Victoria Park Ave.
Commitment:
- 15- 20 hours per week.at 815 Danforth Ave.
- 3 shifts per week at 2930 Lake Shore Blvd Please indicate the location where you are interested in volunteering.
- On Tuesdays or Thursdays or both days – 4 – 5 hours at Victoria Park Ave.
