Program Overview

Client Experience Surveyor Volunteer will support WoodGreen’s quality improvement and client engagement goals by coordinating the work of Client Experience Surveys tasked with engaging with a diverse range of individuals and caregivers who access services in WoodGreen’s Community Care Unit ((crisis services for seniors, mental health supports, case management, supports for parents of children with disabilities, caregivers, etc.) to collect their feedback using the Ontario Perception of Care (OPOC-MHA) tool.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Compassion for individuals living with mental health and/or substance use issues, neurodivergent individuals, individuals affected by poverty, under housing, and related concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience working with and supporting diverse and marginalized communities. – Technical skills for data entry of surveys into an electronic database.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office suite; and experience inputting information into electronic databases.
  • Personal knowledge and lived/living experience of issues that affect communities and populations served by WoodGreen is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, anti-oppression, anti-racism, equity and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in second language (mainly, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Arabic, Farsi, Cantonese, Chinese, Tagalong, Spanish, French) is a strong asset

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collect feedback from WoodGreen’s past and current clients and/or their caregivers about their perception of care and experiences, using a provincial standardized survey: Ontario Perception of Care (OPOC-MHA):
    • Conduct surveys over the phone.
    • Send online surveys to past and current clients by email.
    • Conduct in-person surveys (in WG offices and/or in the community)
  • Ask standardized questions and record answers in an electronic database.
  • Enter paper-copy survey information into the electronic database.
  • Keep a log sheet of surveys’ status by client and program.
  • Share feedback from clients’ interactions and experiences with completing surveys.

 

Training available:

  • Overview of mental health and/or substance use and related concerns.
  • How to effectively engage clients respectfully.
  • How to work with clients who are neurodiverse and/or have cognitive impairments and may need additional support with completing such tasks.
  • Health & Safety considerations for home visits if seeing clients in the office/community.
  • Client confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
  • Specific training on how to use OPOC-MHA and the online database.

 

Supports available:

  • Dedicated support from a supervisor who you can go to with questions/concerns.
  • Training on how to collect client feedback in a supportive, engaging, and non-judgmental manner.
  • Reimbursement for TTC travel if visiting people in the community.
  • Access to computers/phones to support survey collection.

Commitment:

  • Must commit for at least 4 months; 1 shift: 2- 4 hours/week starting July 2025
