The Program Support Student will support Newcomer Services programs that assist immigrants, refugees, and newcomers in successfully settling and integrating into their communities. This placement provides experience in settlement services, language programming, community engagement, outreach, and client support.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reception duties and client support.
- Support language classes and LINC instructors.
- Assist with outreach activities, workshops, and community events.
- Support settlement counsellors with client intake, follow-up, and service planning activities.
- Assist with documentation, databases, and client surveys.
- Support conversation circles, information sessions, and community connections programming.
You Must Be
- Currently enrolled in a program related to Community Development, Immigration and Settlement Studies, Adult Education, Community Learning, Social Services, or a related discipline.
- Interest in newcomer settlement and community services.
