Front Desk Attendant Volunteer

Registration is required
Commitment: 3-month minimum commitment | 10 to 15 hours weekly

About the position

Gain further experience as a volunteer front desk attendant through greeting clients and answering questions. Offer information on WoodGreen’s resources and program information, inform staff once clients arrive, respond to emails, and support scheduling.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support reception and front desk functions including greeting clients.
  • Answering questions, sharing WoodGreen resources and program information, informing staff when clients arrive, responding to emails, and supporting scheduling.
  • Track completed tasks.

 

Skills Development Goals:

  • Develop and/or enhance customer service, teamwork, organizational and communication skills
  • Gain additional experience in administration
  • Enhance knowledge of social service environment, community and employment resources available

  • Strong computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfort interacting with high risk, marginalized, and vulnerable individuals
  • Speaking additional languages is a big asset.

Shift hours and Commitment

  • Monday to Friday
  • 3-month commitment
  • 10-15 hours weekly

 

Screening Requirements:

  • Resume
  • Attendance at an Information Session
  • Two references (1 personal, 1 professional)
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (instructions provided after acceptance)

 

Training:

  • Specific training related to the position will be provided in addition to comprehensive orientation about WoodGreen services, programs, mission and vision
