Program Overview
WoodGreen’s Supportive Housing – Homes for Good program provides safe, stable, and affordable housing for individuals facing mental health challenges and homelessness.
As part of this program, residents have access to nutritious meals through on-site meal services, Meals are served for lunch every weekday, and volunteers play an important role in making sure residents feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
Volunteer Role: Food Service Aide / Dietary Aide
As a Food Service Aide, you will:
- Greet and welcome clients to the dining area.
- Assist clients with mobility devices to receive meals and return trays.
- Serve meals in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Set up and clean the dining area before and after meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in serving and dining areas.
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Assist with basic clean-up tasks, including waste disposal and surface cleaning.
- Respond appropriately in case of an emergency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Positive and compassionate attitude with a commitment to serving others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow food safety guidelines.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate (preferred).
Shifts & Schedule
- Weekdays: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Commitment: 2–3 shifts per week

Training Provided
orientation and role-specific training will be provided.
NB: TTC tokens will be provided to assist volunteers with travel to and from their shifts
