About the Position

The Event Coordination Support will assist WoodGreen’s Workforce Solutions and Employment Services teams in coordinating hiring events, candidate screening activities, and employer recruitment initiatives across multiple WoodGreen locations. This placement provides hands-on experience in recruitment coordination, employment services, workforce development, hiring event operations, and employer engagement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the screening of job seeker applications for hiring events and employer recruitment opportunities.
  • Review candidate profiles and resumes against employer requirements and hiring criteria.
  • Contact job seekers by phone, email, and text to confirm interest, availability, and eligibility for hiring events.
  • Schedule candidate interviews, information sessions, and hiring event appointments.
  • Assist with maintaining candidate tracking systems, databases, and recruitment records.
  • Coordinate communication between job seekers, Employment Counsellors, and employer engagement teams.
  • Support event preparation activities, including attendance tracking, registration management, and candidate follow-up.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing recruitment outcomes, interview results, and employer feedback.
  • Participate in workforce development projects and gain exposure to recruitment, employment services, and hiring event operations.
  • Prepare reports and summaries related to hiring event participation and candidate engagement activities.

 

You Must Be

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Community Services, Social Services, Communications, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Completion of at least one year of post-secondary studies is preferred.
  • Placement must be a requirement of an accredited educational institution.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and online collaboration tools.
  • Experience with data entry, scheduling, or event coordination is an asset.
  • Interest in recruitment, employment services, workforce development, human resources, or community services.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.

 

Shift Hours

  • Hybrid placement
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

Commitment

  • Approximately 15–35 hours per week, depending on academic requirements.
  • Minimum placement requirement of 240 hours.
  • Placement duration may range from 2 to 6 months, depending on the academic institution and program requirements.

Training

  • Students will gain hands-on experience in recruitment coordination, candidate screening, hiring event management, workforce development, and employment services operations. The placement provides exposure to employer hiring processes, applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, candidate engagement strategies, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple employment service locations. Students will develop practical skills in recruitment operations, stakeholder communication, scheduling, data management, and client service while supporting real hiring initiatives that connect job seekers with employment opportunities.
