The Childcare Volunteer supports the Care for Newcomer Children program by facilitating a variety of interactive activities for children aged 19 months to 4 years. Volunteers are expected to engage with children through play and assist staff with various responsibilities at the centre.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with setting up and cleaning up activities, toys, and learning spaces
- Encouraging positive behaviour and inclusion among children
- Helping children with transitions (e.g., playtime to snack time)
- Supporting basic routines such as snack time, tidying up
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment at all times
- Observing children and reporting any concerns or incidents to staff
Qualifications:
- An ECE credential is considered an asset.
- Basic education required, with the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Previous working experience with children is an asset.

Commitment:
- 3-month commitment | 2.5 hours a week | 2 minimum shifts per week

Training:
- Specific training related to the position will be provided in addition to a comprehensive orientation about WoodGreen services, programs, mission, and vision.
