Pension Operations Representative (18-Month Contract)

About the Job

Reporting to the Manager, Pension Operations, this is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Pension Operations professional to join a team of high performing professionals to make a great impact. This is an 18-month contract position and there are three positions available.

The Pension Operations Representative will be involved in providing hypercare support to our members with respect to UPP’s pension administration and membership data.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

We approach this build thoughtfully and methodically, with a careful focus on building a strong base, operational efficiency and excellent member and employer experience. We are creating a digitally enabled service experience for our members.

Service Delivery
• Deliver best-in-class service to our members, participating employers and universities.
• Complete workflow processing cases within compliance timelines.
• Collaborate with pension operations and pension data teams on various projects.
• Understand transaction flows to find and reduce any bottlenecks in workflow processing.
• Exhibit an ability to listen, negotiate and communicate goals with the highest standards of professionalism.
Pension Administration
• Learn UPP’s new pension administration system in order to confidently process transactional workflows.
• Handle member data entry, and work with senior specialists to develop data for analytics and reporting.
• Support pension operations team by providing base support for workflow processing.
• Will escalate more complex issues to senior team members.
• Will be expected to provide backup support to other areas within the Pension Services team as needed.
• Support the Pension Operations Manager on special pension projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Completed college diploma or university degree with 1+ years of experience in the pension, financial services, or data related industries.
• Experience in pension services would be an asset.
• Experience analyzing large data sets would be an asset.
• Working towards or completion of CEBS or PPAC certifications would be an asset.
• Strong ability to self-diagnose member data issues correctly.
• Able to communicate complex information clearly when escalating workflows to senior staff.
• Professional, client-focused approach to colleagues and assignments.
• Seeks out experiences that may change perspective or provide an opportunity to learn new things.
• Ability to organize, set priorities and work independently.
