Student Placement - Seniors Active Living Centres & Outreach

Registration is required
2-5 days a week (14-35 hours) a week | 3 to 6 months commitment

About the position

Reponsabilities

  • Support SALC (Seniors Active Living Centres) Manager and Program Coordinators with planning, facilitating and evaluating a variety of seniors’ programs that fall into the following categories: Physical Exercise and Falls Prevention Classes, Educational and Skills Building Workshops, Social and Recreational Activities, Special Events and Outings, Congregate Dining and Luncheons.
  • Assist SALC Manager and Coordinators with identifying seniors’ needs with respect to introducing new programs and initiatives designed to help seniors engage with the community and age in their homes for as long as possible.
  • Create program calendars and promotional content including social media posts, flyers, slide decks to support program outreach and marketing
  • Gather and enter program data to maintain accurate records for reporting purposes and program evaluation
  • Support SALC Manager with research and development of new programs and funding opportunities.
  • Assist in the administrative duties related to organizing seniors active living programming.
  • Help standardize processes and procedures to improve Seniors Active Living Centres program deliverables.

 

You must be

Enrolled in an academic social services program, geriatrics, recreational program

 

What you bring to the team

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills (basic knowledge of MS Suite CRM).
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Collaborative approach to supporting outreach, evaluation, and engagement
  • Interest in research for funding and program development

 

Shift hours

2-5 days a week (14-35 hours) a week
