New development will provide personalized supports for older adults and seniors in a vibrant, inclusive community setting
Toronto, ON – WoodGreen Community Services is proud to be selected by the City of Toronto to operate 185 Cummer Avenue, a new 59-unit supportive housing site for older adults and seniors.
As the lead agency responsible for on-site management and resident support, WoodGreen will guide the development of a vibrant, inclusive community that empowers older adults and seniors to live independently while feeling safe and supported. The site will provide permanent, affordable housing for individuals who are experiencing chronic or recurrent housing uncertainty, along with tailored supports to promote long-term housing stability and healthy aging in place.
Tenants will benefit from a range of services designed to meet their unique needs. These include access to 24/7 on-site staffing, nutritious meals, health and wellness programming and support with daily living. Each tenant will work with staff to develop a personalized plan that encourages independence while offering support as needed to build routines, navigate services and feel at home.
WoodGreen brings deep experience to this work, including the successful operation of 540 Cedarvale, a similarly-sized supportive housing site that serves residents with a range of needs. The organization’s approach is rooted in delivering safe, inclusive housing where individuals can thrive with dignity and a strong sense of community.
Partnership with the surrounding community is essential to the success of the new development. WoodGreen will work closely with local residents, organizations, and service providers to foster positive relationships and ensure the site integrates well into the neighbourhood. Upcoming information sessions and ongoing opportunities engagement will help keep lines of communication open and responsive.
