$1.5M COMMUNITY CARE
Increase capacity to support critical needs of frail, isolated seniors and those with mental health or developmental issues. Invest in technology to improve response time for senior care and crisis intervention.
As our senior population increases exponentially and our health care model changes, a greater number of clients are requiring home care, personal support and seniors’ crisis intervention.
Access to health care and community-based supports is a growing burden in our city.
WoodGreen offers vital community-based services. We enable seniors to age at home and individuals with dementia or mental health issues to access supportive programming. We provide crisis intervention, health care supports, day programs, caregiver respite, and transportation to and from medical appointments.
WoodGreen is the neighbour, the nurse, the driver, and the visitor for some of the most isolated and vulnerable people in our city. We are their community and they are ours.
Your support will allow:
- Increased capacity to respond to critical needs like dementia, mental health disorders and substance abuse for isolated seniors.
- Enhanced ability to offer caregiver support to individuals dealing with the physical and emotional challenges of caring for their loved ones.
- Investment in technology to improve response time for Crisis Outreach for Seniors and better access to Meals on Wheels, and accessible transportation.
