Leo Salom, Chair The WoodGreen Foundation

Leo joined the WoodGreen Foundation in 2012. Impressed by the impact of programs like Homeward Bound and WoodGreen’s role in addressing critical social issues like poverty, homelessness and newcomer services, Leo has assumed the role as Chair to help raise the profile of this stellar organization.

In his role as Executive Vice President, TD Wealth, Leo is responsible for TD’s Direct Investing, Advice, and Asset Management businesses in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Leo joined TD in 2011 and has more than 27 years of retail banking and investment management experience, having previously served as CEO of Barclays Western European Retail and Commercial Banking group based in London, England. Prior to joining Barclays in 2006, Leo worked for Citibank for nearly 19 years, ultimately managing their Retail Banking division across Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa.

Leo currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for The WoodGreen Foundation, one of the largest social service charities in Toronto and for the Toronto Region Board of Trade. He serves on the Parent Advisory Board at Wake Forest University and is the Co-Chair of the 2014 TD United Way Campaign. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Teresa Vasilopoulos, Executive Director The WoodGreen Foundation

Teresa is a long-time east Toronto resident and has spent the last 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the not for profit sector. Always looking to bring focus and attention to stellar organizations, Teresa has focused her leadership roles in philanthropy on connecting the right people with the right cause at the right time.

Teresa comes to WoodGreen with an impressive track record in the planning and execution of several multi-million dollar campaigns for organizations like WE (formerly Free The Children) and the Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General Hospital). Teresa is credited with facilitating of one of the largest private donor gifts ever donated to a hospital in Canada. Her work at WE allowed her to gain an international perspective and where she helped develop and lead the organization’s first major gift campaign in celebration of the organization’s 20th Anniversary.

Teresa is a respected and trusted leader, a consensus builder, an authentic and motivational communicator with a strength in building profile, forging enduring donor relationships and exceeding ambitious revenue targets. As Executive Director of The WoodGreen Foundation, Teresa will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Foundation as it embarks on its exciting next stage of development.
