Corporate Volunteer Program

At WoodGreen we work closely with corporations to identify volunteer opportunities that match their specific community service goals. Our corporate volunteer program is designed to encourage employee involvement, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and leadership skills. Many of the employees that volunteer with us find that making a positive difference in the lives of others is a great source of inspiration and motivation.

What we have to offer corporate partners:

  • Hands-on volunteer opportunities from WoodGreen's wide range of service areas
  • Unique team-building and leadership opportunities for large and small groups
  • Professional project-management and on-site project supervision to guarantee the volunteer day runs smoothly
  • Public recognition for all our corporate supporters

What’s New:

On September 16, 2009, over 110 ARAMARK employee volunteers, along with City Year, a group dedicated to engaging young people in full-time community service and ARAMARK’s volunteerism partner, helped transform WoodGreen’s After 4 Program by creating a library and reading area, sanding and re-painting outdoor climbing equipment, painting a variety of outdoor murals, and landscaping the outside area with new flower beds. Ararmark volunteers also painted the kitchen and living room at one of WoodGreen’s housing facilities (63 Pape) and created 22 planter boxes for the rooftop garden 1070 Queen Street, another WodGreen housing facility. In less than 5 hours, all of this work was completed! All of the supplies were purchased by ARAMARK, a value of over $5,000! THANK YOU ARAMARK!!

“This is the first time that I’ve given back to my community and I never, ever thought it would feel this good to volunteer and to spend time working at a wonderful and deserving centre like WoodGreen.”

-- Natasha Maini, Human Resources

"It’s been a great day and one of the best parts was the great teamwork everyone showed. We worked hard and did so much for these people – it’s an awesome feeling at the end of the day!"

-- Barbara Britton, Business Dining

Testimonials from TD Bank:

How was our experience with WoodGreen? In a word – fantastic. The initial appeal was its mission and multi-pronged approach to assisting the communities they serve. Also, the locations of their offices and the types of activities available for a team of our size worked well. Most importantly, they were very accommodating in working with us through various logistical challenges and were very enthusiastic and eager to host our team. The activity we were involved with was painting the After 4 Program room as a backdrop for a mural that the children would create. The After 4 Program is designed to help school age children and adolescents who may require special support as they transition into a new community, a new school and a new life. These programs, which include recreational play, homework help, and art classes, are designed to help children from the Homeward Bound program to build new skills. The entire experience was an extremely positive one – the activity was fun and meaningful and the folks there were simply a pleasure to work with. Special thanks to Susan Melnick for her wonderful assistance!
