Since the early 1980’s, WoodGreen Community Services has been generously supported by the community through gifts of toys for the children in our Child Care programs during the holiday season. Over the past few years, the need to help children in other WoodGreen programs has increased dramatically. Last year, WoodGreen gave over 1,000 toys to the children in the following WoodGreen programs including:
- Child Care
- Mental Health and Developmental Services, specifically the Parent Outreach Program
- Immigrant Services, specifically for the New Immigrants Program
- After4 Program
- Homelessness and Housing Help
- Homeward Bound
WoodGreen’s Toy Drive has been a success only because of the support we have received from our community partners. For the past seven years, Treasure Island Toys has donated thousands of toys to the children in our child care sites. Many thanks to these additional 2008 supporters: Beaver Theatre, CHUM Christmas Wish, Duncan Fremlin, Hewitt Associates, Karen Liang, Fionnuala Martin, Ken McLachlan, Spearhead Toronto, TD Canada Trust, The Bay on Bloor, Bernard Thibault, Three’s Company Catering, Toronto Police Services and VFC Inc.
