Opportunities for a better life came to thousands of WoodGreen clients last year, through everything from career training to meal delivery, from finding a new home to learning a new language. Here is a look at how WoodGreen helped people, by the numbers:

  •  11,173 seniors, older adults with disabilities, and caregivers were helped through programs like Meals on Wheels, social work, transportation services and more. 
  •  2,096 people with mental health and developmental challenges were helped through programs like the friendship club, guitar program, lobby drop in program and supported independent living last year. 1,000 people had a safe, affordable home through WoodGreen Housing.
  • 32 single mothers and their children took brave new steps on their journey to economic self-sufficiency at WoodGreen’s Homeward Bound.
  • 4,047 people with serious homelessness and housing issues were helped through WoodGreen’s rent bank service project, housing search service, emergency relocation project, harm reduction program, and counseling programs.
  • 112 seniors and people living with HIV/AIDS moved into beautiful new homes in the Wellesley Central Residence, a partnership between WoodGreen, The Wellesley Institute and Fife House.
  • 7,131 newcomers made a successful transition into Canadian life with help from WoodGreen’s language training, employment preparation, and immigrant settlement programs.
  • 675 children had safe, healthy and happy days while enrolled at WoodGreen’s 8 child care centres.
