We understand how difficult it is for parents to find
child care that they can trust.WoodGreen provides a
safe, stimulating and enriching early learning environment
where children are cared for by professionally trained
staff giving parents peace of mind. Our curriculum is
based on the most up-to-date practices and is designed
to respond to each child's individual needs and interests.
We also regard parental involvement as an integral
part of our program.

WoodGreen's child care centres are provincially-licensed and
provide care for children from birth to age 12. All of our
locations also offer the following benefits:
- Professionally-trained ECE (Early Childhood Education)
and ECA (Early Childhood Assistant) staff
- A full-time resource teacher who works with
children and families who have special needs
- Programs for kindergarten aged children located in school or kindergarten children are escorted to and from school
- Field trips and special activities
- Nutritious hot lunches, plus morning and
afternoon snacks
- Staff who speak various languages including
Chinese, Vietnamese and Portuguese
- Barrier-free access (most sites)

Hours of operation
Our child care centres operate Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. (our Woodfield location opens at 7:00 a.m.).
We are open year round, except for statutory holidays.
Communicating with parents
At WoodGreen, we work in partnership with parents, providing
them with developmental checklists and one-on-one interviews
with staff to discuss their children's progress.We also keep
parents informed about what's going on in our centres through
regular newsletters.
Supporting children with special needs
Committed to running an integrated program for children
with special needs and their families, our full-time resource
teacher works to address a range of special needs throughout
all of our centres.We also support families by providing
effective strategies for parenting a child with special needs.

WoodGreen runs an enriched, early learning nursery
school program for children ages 3 to 5 at 2 of our child care centres. Half-day, morning nursery school spaces are made
available to children from the community at
Debbie Yeung C.C. and Woodfield.

In partnership with the Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre
and Ralph Thornton Centre,WoodGreen runs the RAC
(Riverdale Action Centre) summer camp for children
throughout July and August. The camp offers a half-day
program (a.m. or p.m.) for 3 to 5 year olds (KinderRAC)
and a full-day program for 6 to 12 year olds (SeniorRAC).
Children can sign up for a 2-week session, with registration
taking place in May.

In partnership with The Child Development Institute, Public
Health and community agencies,WoodGreen offers various
parenting programs and workshops on issues such as child
guidance/behaviour management strategies, social skills for
children, and information about important health matters.

WoodGreen is proud to operate a Toronto First Duty
site, a unique new early years concept which integrates
kindergarten, child care and parenting supports into one
comprehensive program, with a special emphasis on early
literacy. The Bruce/WoodGreen Early Learning Centre, located
in Bruce Public School, is offered through a partnership with
the City of Toronto, the Toronto District School Board, the
Atkinson Foundation and several community agencies.
